a-frame of mind

Wow.  Cheesy title.  A couple of weeks ago, I got a request for a gift certificate for my custom house portrait.  I don’t know why I hadn’t already thought of putting one of these in my shop.  Anyway, it was like this but with words and stuff.

I don’t think I’ve ever actually been in an A-frame house, but there’s something about them that appeals to me in a woodsy, chalety, way.  I guess it’s not really the house itself that I like as much as the potential of pleasant and owl-infused surroundings that I imagine must go with them.

speed + direction

= velocity.  I thought that it was about time for my annual bikey drawing.  We’ve been big into bikes this spring.  Doodle  got his first bike for his 4th birthday and passed his beloved trike on to his sister (who can’t quite reach the pedals, but is happy enough to be pushed along).  I would not say that Doodle has quite the same symbiotic relationship with his bike that he did with the trike, but I’m confident that the training wheels will be off… eventually.  And this is actually a portrait of my own sweet new birthday ride!  My own arms, too.

All of the proceeds from the sale of this print (along with this one aaaand this one) will be donated to a rider in the Tri-State Trek from Boston to NYC in support of ALS research.
